Job summary

Private Advertiser in Penang is seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Technician to join the maintenance team in a food manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and support installation and modification projects to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Certificate / Diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, practical experience across both domains, the ability to read basic drawings, and a willingness to work overtime,

Qualifications

• Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
• Practical experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read basic mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Experience in a manufacturing or food-processing environment is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime, shifts, weekends, public holidays and attend to breakdowns when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns
• Maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, blowers, valves, pneumatic systems, drying systems, and other production equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical control panels, contactors, relays, sensors, inverters/VFD and basic PLC systems
• Carry out inspection, adjustment, replacement and installation of machine components
• Respond to machine breakdowns and minimize production downtime
• Perform routine maintenance of factory utilities and supporting equipment
• Maintain proper maintenance records and report equipment abnormalities
• Follow company safety, GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements
• Assist in machine improvement, modification and installation projects
