Tan Chong Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer/ Senior Engineer/ Assistant Manager to lead MEP coordination for building projects. The role involves planning, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring timely delivery of MEP design and services.

Candidates should have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with 4–5 years in building construction, strong communication skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4–5 years in building construction/consultant/contracting.
• Strong analytical, urgency, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and drive works to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with consultants for optimum MEP design.
• Liaise with end users for MEP service requirements.
• Prepare schedules of price and design MEP services.
• Source material pricing from suppliers/ manufacturers/ contractors for cost comparison.
• Review and evaluate tender quotations.
• Coordinate with local authorities for MEP requirements.
• Participate in testing and commissioning of building MEP services.
• Possess electrical design knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and driving works to meet deadline
• Coordinate with consultants in all mechanical and electrical services for optimum design
• Liaise with end user for M&E services requirement
• Prepare Schedule of Price and design M&E services
• To source material pricing form supplier/ manufacture/ contractor for cost comparison
• To check and evaluate the tenderers quotations
• Coordinate/ liaison with local authorities related to all necessary MEP requirements for the project
• Participate in testing & commissioning of all building M&E services
• Enable to have electrical design knowledge

Job Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 4-5 years working experience in the building construction/ consultant/ contracting
• At least 4-5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
• A highly motivated team player with strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skill
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and committed with a strong sense of urgency
• Able to work independently under tight deadline environment
• Good command of both spoken and Written English and Bahasa Melayu
• Proficient in Microsoft Office application, Autocad and Microsoft Project.
