Job summary

GSH Precision Technology SDN BHD in Penang seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to create parts, assemblies and tooling using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor. You will generate 2D drawings and 3D models with proper GD&T and tolerancing, and develop production-ready designs for sheet metal, CNC, stamping, or automation equipment.

You will work closely with production, QA, and project teams to ensure manufacturability, support prototypes, and perform tolerance analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Mechanical tolerances & GD&T knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, tooling, and fixtures using CAD software.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models with GD&T and tolerancing.
• Develop production-ready designs for sheet metal, CNC, stamping, or automation equipment.
• Perform DFM and DFA analysis to ensure manufacturability.
• Create BOMs, technical documentation, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with production, machining, QA, and project teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and material selection.
• Liaise with customers on technical requirements and engineering changes.
