Job summary

Celestica is seeking an Operations Engineering Consultant 1 in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia. The role involves modeling assembly sequences, performing DFA-related tasks, and supporting on-site trials and integration efforts within the OPE - Operations Engineering stream.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in mechanical/NPI engineering, CAD proficiency, and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. The position is on-site in Malaysia with regional responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Four to eight years in mechanical, assembly or NPI engineering with system integration exposure.
• CAD proficiency expected.
• Degree in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Run pre-DFA on assigned platforms and issue the report before release.
• Model the assembly sequence and check interference, fastening, routing and service access.
• Log findings with severity and route, and work the disposition with mechanical and industrial design.
• Support trial builds at the site and capture assembly cycle time and operator-induced defect modes.
• Support rack integration, thermal and cold plate assembly questions for the assigned site.
• Propose DFA rule changes from recurring findings and from field service data.
