Job summary

KHANG AUTO TRANSMISSION CENTRE SDN BHD in Tampoi, Johor, is seeking a skilled automotive mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles. You will join a dedicated workshop team focused on quality workmanship and exceptional service.

The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing servicing, and collaborating with the team to improve processes. Candidates should have 1–3 years of relevant experience and a formal qualification in automotive mechanics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of automotive mechanic experience.
• Formal qualification in Automotive Mechanics or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on vehicles
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components
• Test and inspect repaired units to ensure quality
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
• Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements
• Communicate repair findings to the service advisor or workshop manager
• Ensure a safe and organised work environment
• Assist with other workshop duties as assigned

You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while delivering quality workmanship. This full-time position is based in Tampoi Johor, where you will be an integral part of a skilled team dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on vehicles
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components
• Test and inspect repaired units to ensure they meet quality standards
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
• Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to the service advisor or workshop manager
• Ensure a safe and organised work environment
• Assist with other workshop duties as assigned

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience as an automotive mechanic (experience with Japanese, Korean, or continental vehicles is an advantage)
• Formal qualification in Automotive Mechanics or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driving license
