About the role

Singapore MathLab™ Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our tutoring team at our Bandar Kinrara Selangor centre. This is a part-time position offering flexible working arrangements, making it ideal for educators seeking to supplement their income or balance other commitments. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students develop strong mathematical foundations and cultivate a genuine love for the subject. Your expertise will directly impact students' academic performance and confidence in mathematics, contributing to Singapore MathLab™ Centre's mission of excellence in mathematics education.

Key responsibilities

Deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons to students of various age groups and ability levels

Develop and prepare customised lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs

Assess student progress and understanding through regular testing, assignments and observations

Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and areas for improvement

Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and problem-solving

Utilise interactive teaching methods and resources to make mathematics concepts accessible and enjoyable

Track student development and adjust teaching strategies to ensure optimal learning outcomes

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and assessment results

Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's academic journey and milestones

Collaborate with fellow tutors and centre management to maintain high standards of educational delivery

What we're looking for

Minimum qualification: Diploma or degree in Mathematics or equivalent teaching qualification

Proven experience teaching mathematics, preferably in a tutoring or educational centre environment

Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and teaching methodologies across various levels

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, understandable terms

Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping students succeed

Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and adapt teaching methods accordingly

Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and lesson schedules

Reliability and commitment to maintaining punctuality and professionalism

Preferably, experience with examination preparation or mentoring students for standardised tests
