Job summary

KPJ Seremban Specialist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with a Midwifery upgrade to deliver high‑quality maternity care. You will assess patients, implement plans, supervise labor, and mentor junior staff in a busy unit.

The role requires 3+ years of diverse clinical experience, current BLS/ACLS/MTLS/PALS/NRP certifications, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. You will collaborate across disciplines and participate in continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice.
• Advanced Diploma in Midwifery.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience and diversity in clinical experience.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Current BLS, ACLS, MTLS, PALS and NRP certifications.
• Willingness to work scheduled hours, shifts, weekends and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to nursing care vision and shift duties as assigned to ensure high quality care.
• Notify unit manager of changes affecting standards of care.
• Obtain and handover patient progress reports; follow doctors' orders and document incidents.
• Visit patients with the team to assess conditions and re-plan nursing care.
• Provide personalized maternity care, newborn care, and postnatal education.
• Conduct nursing rounds and assist in procedures; communicate with all disciplines.
• Coordinate with the team to execute doctor's orders and ensure bed management.
• Supervise labor progress and assist in CTG interpretation and obstetric complications.
• Guide new mothers on self-care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and family planning.
• Participate in health education and hospital activities; uphold infection prevention policies.
• Communicate clearly with patients about condition and treatment options; maintain compassionate care.
• Collaborate with unit manager for administration and bed management.
