Job summary

KPJ Sentosa KL Specialist Hospital is seeking a capable Registered Nurse with a midwifery background to provide comprehensive nursing care in a maternity-focused unit. The role involves adhering to care standards, documenting patient progress, and ensuring doctor orders are followed during shifts.

Responsibilities include patient rounds, newborn care guidance, emergency procedures, and coordinating with consultants for bed management.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Advance Diploma in Midwifery completed and licensed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the nursing care vision, mission and goals while performing shift duties.
• Notify unit manager of any changes impacting care standards.
• Obtain and hand over patient progress reports and ensure doctor orders are followed.
• Visit patients in the unit with the team to assess conditions and re-plan care.
• Provide personalized care to newborns and infants and document findings accurately.
• Participate in high-quality maternity care, including emergency procedures.
• Conduct nursing rounds, support doctors, and assist in procedures.
• Supervise labor progress and assist in interpreting CTG and complications.
• Guide new mothers on self-care, newborn care, breastfeeding and family planning.
• Coordinate care with consultants for bed management and effective communication.
• Charge accurately for equipment and consumables; verify charges and documentation.
• Inspect sterile packs and maintain stock from Central Sterile Supply.
