Job summary

Sime Industrial in Malaysia is seeking a Sales Engineer to lead marine projects, coordinate with shipyards and designers, and provide technical advice on propulsion, diesel engines, generators, and related deliverables.

You will ensure on-time testing, commissioning, and project milestones while maintaining customer satisfaction through prompt responses. Travel to outstations and branches will be required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of marine/shipyard industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years in sales engineering.
• Competence in commissioning and marine engine/project management.
• Good command of English; strong writing and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel and work outstation as required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead marine project execution; coordinate with shipyard teams and designers.
• Provide technical advice on products and services to customers and shipyards.
• Update configurations, validate attachments, and manage local content purchases.
• Ensure timely tests, trials, commissioning per project timelines.
• Coordinate with branch sales, principals, and vendors for project delivery.
• Maintain customer satisfaction with prompt responses to enquiries/complaints.
• Support sales engagement from inquiry to tender bidding.
