Job summary

Boston Scientific Medical Device (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Penang to support equipment maintenance, qualification, and improvement of production methods.

The role involves servicing electronic systems, PLCs, and interfacing with vendors to minimise downtime and ensure safe, compliant operations. You will work with Manufacturing Engineers to standardize processes, perform qualifications and validations, and manage spare parts.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering required (Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Other, or Mechatronics).
• 3+ years of working experience in the related field.
• Skills include equipment maintenance, qualification, critical thinking and problem solving.
• Electronic knowledge is a must; tester troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Spare parts management and Pivot proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, standardize and improve existing production methods and procedures.
• Electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, electronic hardware interfacing.
• Maintain a critical spares inventory to minimise downtime.
• Assist MEs in investigating and implementing new production methods.
• Assist MEs in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
• Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing.
• Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment and changes.
• Interface with BSIL personnel and outside vendors as needed.
• Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures in an assigned area.
• Communicate any concerns about work processes affecting environment, health or safety to manager.
