Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang, Malaysia, is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to support setup, calibration, testing, and maintenance of production equipment in our facility.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, work from manuals, and adhere to quality and safety standards to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; AA degree preferred.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.
• Must be able to lift 25 kg and work at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist in manufacturing and assembling processes per facility procedures.
• Perform calibration, testing, maintenance, and setup of production equipment.
• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment and process issues; perform repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Follow blueprints, manuals, and instructions; work from verbal directions.
• Support hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems repair.
• Maintain quality and safety standards in all tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
• Document and report equipment performance and maintenance actions.
• Assist in training lower-level maintenance staff on troubleshooting techniques.

Job description

Performs basic activities to assist in manufacturing and assembling various products per established facility processes including set-up, calibration, testing, maintenance, and production operation.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and/or analyze unique problems that are new to equipment.
• Perform predictive maintenance by analyzing routine failures and determining adjustments and repairs that need to be made.
• Perform training as needed to Lower level Maintenance Techs on troubleshooting and repair techniques utilized with equipment
• Perform specified preventative maintenance on production equipment to prevent equipment downtime.
• Monitor equipment operations to ensure proper usage.
• Construct and/or assemble new equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and repair as needed
• Perform specified preventative maintenance on production equipment to prevent equipment down-time
• Work from blueprints, manuals, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Help repairing on hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to meet business conditions or changes.
• Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.

Job Requirements

• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to work independently
• Must have good or corrected eyesight to insure quality of work
• Ability to lift and carry 25 kg frequently
• Ability to crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work at various heights
• Good basic math skills
• Good mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting ability
• Must have a valid drivers license

Typically requires 3-4 years or more of related work experience. Requires high school diploma. Completion of an AA degree or equivalent is preferred.
