Job summary

Lam Research Malaysia, Kulim site, seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead a direct-labor team of assemblers and test technicians across production shifts. You will ensure safety and quality compliance, meet production goals, and manage costs in a global, matrixed environment.

The role requires a degree with 6+ years of experience, strong problem solving, and ability to drive lean initiatives such as Kanban. You will coordinate resources, mentor staff, and report to upper management.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with 6+ years of related experience.
• Able to work in a controlled clean room environment with PPE.
• Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing processes and human factors.
• Lean manufacturing and Kanban understanding.
• Strong problem solving and decision making with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of direct labors (Assemblers/Test Technicians) on shifts in production.
• Enforce Safety & Quality regulations; lead audits and investigations.
• Allocate resources; coach and mentor to foster teamwork.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate status to upper management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve downtime, safety/quality issues and material shortages.
• Proficiency in 8D problem solving and SAP usage.

Enforce Safety & Quality regulations and protocols, conduct Safety & Quality audits, lead Safety & Quality related investigations.

Manage and allocate resources accordingly, manage & evaluate team performance, provide coaching and mentorship, fostering team-oriented environment.

Identify areas for improvement in production processes & implement strategies to enhance efficiency.

Prepare shiftly reports, chair production related meeting/huddle and communicate production status to upper management.

Partner with stakeholders to resolve production related challenges for example Safety/Quality issues, downtime, material shortages.

Proficiency in 8D and why-why write up, SAP usage.

Frequently interacts with subordinates, internal stakeholders and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas.

Provides clear expectations and regular feedback specific to performance management to develop employees.

Who we’re looking for

• A degree or equivalent with 6+ years of related experience as an individual contributor.

• Must be capable of working within a controlled clean room environment and adhering to all specified gown and personal protective equipment requirements.

• Knowledge of industrial / manufacturing processes, human factor, organizational behavior.

• Intermediate understanding of lean manufacturing and Kanban systems.

• Effective problem solving and learning mindset, strong decision maker.

• Strong verbal, written communication, and collaboration skills

• Ability to run shifts work patterns.

Preferred qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in shifts management.

• Ability to set and manage accountabilities and expectations & able to act quickly to resolve conflicts.

• Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred with demonstrated competence in structured problem solving

• Strong technical & operational knowledge and ability to speak with data.
