Job summary

BAC Asia in Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Engineer to develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes. You will support production through optimization, capacity planning, line balancing, automation, tooling design, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, and Product Engineering to enhance performance, support NPI, and drive operational excellence within the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics/Production or related engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Industrial/Production/Process Engineering or Operational Excellence.
• Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal processing, welding, assembly manufacturing, HVAC equipment, cooling towers, and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes for productivity, quality, safety and efficiency.
• Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and optimize cycle time, labour utilization, throughput and OEE.
• Design and maintain process documentation: SOPs, PFMEA, control plans, line layouts.
• Lead line balancing studies and manpower optimization following Lean principles.
• Lead process improvement projects using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and VSM.
• Support production in troubleshooting assembly, fabrication, testing, material flow and equipment performance.
• Support NPI by developing processes, validating production methods and readiness for mass production.
• Evaluate and implement tooling, fixtures, jigs, poka-yoke and automation to improve productivity.
• Support plant digitalization: MES, barcode traceability, digital work instructions and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to reduce defects and ensure safety and quality compliance.
