Job summary

SmartHire by SEEK is partnering with a manufacturing business in Perai, Penang to recruit a General Manager. The role oversees day-to-day operations, drives business growth, operational excellence, and people leadership across the organisation, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule and a salary of RM8,500–RM15,000 monthly.

We are seeking someone with a degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field and 8–10 years of management experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Guidance in leading daily operations and driving performance.
• Experience managing manufacturing operations and union matters is useful.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and stakeholder engagement are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations to meet objectives and drive growth.
• Oversee departmental performance to achieve targets and sustainable expansion.
• Shape strategies for business development and long-term progress.
• Monitor production, quality, delivery, costs and productivity for efficiency.
• Build and manage relationships with key customers to support growth.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards and legal requirements.
• Report performance to Top Management and address operational issues promptly.
