Job summary

Premier Hytemp Sdn Bhd in Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a Mechanical Tooling Engineer to provide technical support during pre-process discussions and evaluate complex machine drawings for manufacturing.

You will design tooling and fixtures, assist sales with cost estimates, test new tools, and lead continuous improvement initiatives in a global oil and gas tooling context.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferably 2 years experience in oil and gas industry or related.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MasterCam.
• Good understanding of ANSI, ASME Standards and API products requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support during pre-process discussions and evaluation of complex machine drawings.
• Propose and implement design tooling and fixtures for machining of complex features.
• Support sales with accurate estimation of machining hours and tooling costs during quotations.
• Test new tools and present cost savings to management.
• Manage tool room daily operations and train machinists.
• Purchase tooling and maintain stock to support production plans.
• Monitor tooling spend and prepare monthly trend reports.
• Source and qualify new machining vendors and drive first article approvals.
