Job summary

ResMed (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the construction and startup of a new Senai manufacturing site. You will oversee end-to-end engineering activities, ensuring readiness of equipment, processes, and automation to support rapid ramp-up.

You will manage a growing team of manufacturing process and automation engineers, partner with Production Manager and global teams, and drive continuous improvement through data analytics and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering.
• Proven team leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience in factory setup, line transfer, or production ramp‑up.

Responsibilities

• Lead factory setup, qualification, and ramp‑up of manufacturing equipment and lines.
• Oversee day‑to‑day engineering support for production and ramp targets.
• Drive automation, robotics and advanced manufacturing initiatives with internal/external partners.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and stakeholders to remove roadblocks and align site objectives.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to play a pivotal role in launching and scaling our new manufacturing facility in Senai. This is a unique opportunity to lead factory start‑up efforts, build and develop a high‑performing engineering team, and drive the successful transfer and ramp‑up of production lines.

You will be at the heart of establishing world‑class manufacturing operations—working closely with regional and global teams to deliver high‑quality, efficient, and scalable production.

You will be responsible for end‑to‑end engineering activities at the new site. You will partner closely with the Production Manager and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure smooth factory setup, operational readiness, and ongoing performance improvement.

Let's Talk About Responsibilities

Factory Setup & Line Transfer

• Lead the setup, qualification, and ramp‑up of manufacturing equipment and production lines
• Drive successful transfer of masks and glue line processes from existing sites
• Ensure production readiness aligned with planned timelines and quality standards
• Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of Manufacturing Process and Automation Engineers.
• Build a high‑performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership while developing team capability

Manufacturing Operations Support

• Oversee day‑to‑day engineering support for production, including:
• Non‑conformance investigation
• First‑pass yield improvement
• Process optimization
• Drive efficiency improvements to achieve aggressive ramp targets

Technology & Continuous Improvement

• Work with internal and external partners to implement automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies
• Apply data analytics to monitor performance, generate insights, and drive decision‑making
• Lead or support productivity and operational excellence initiatives

Stakeholder & Global Collaboration

• Collaborate with global engineering teams to leverage best practices and technical expertise
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to remove roadblocks and drive progress
• Act as a key contributor to cross‑site engineering alignment

Required

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a fast‑paced production environment
• Proven team leadership experience (or strong readiness to step into a leadership role)
• Hands‑on experience in factory setup, line transfer, or production ramp‑up

• Strong data analytics and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a start‑up environment
