Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of semiconductor experience.
  • Ability to work independently under tight schedules.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to production operations to resolve process issues on the line.
  • Apply engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes and assembly sequences.
  • Create, review and maintain manufacturing guidelines, SOPs and process documentation.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to reduce costs and improve yields.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation through data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance and cross-functional teams to support CAPA and manufacturing objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About the role

Channel Systems Asia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Shah Alam, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in optimising our manufacturing processes and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and improving manufacturing systems and processes. This role is essential to our operations, directly impacting product quality, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across our facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to production operations by addressing process-related and technical issues on the production line to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing activities.
  • Apply and established engineering principles to determine, develop and optimize manufacturing processes and assembly sequences that meet organisational standards for quality, productivity, reliability, cost efficiency and safety features.
  • Create, review, update and maintain manufacturing guidelines, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation to ensure standardised execution by production operators.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to working methods, process flows and operation sequences to minimise risks, reduce costs and wastage, improve yields and productivity and enhance product quality and consistency.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives through data analysis, problem-solving methodologies and implementation of effective engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance and other cross-functional teams to support manufacturing objectives, process validations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superior or Management from time to time.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any related engineering disciplines.
  • At least 3-5 years of previous experience in semiconductor.
  • Able to work independently under minimum supervision and work under tight schedule to deliver result.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Mechanical and Electrical for manufacturing and machining processes will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge in automation process focuses on designing, installing, testing, machinery operation and maintaining computerised or mechanical systems that operate with minimal human intervention.
  • Proficient in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is essential for communication with China, both written and verbal).
