Job summary

Western Digital Corporation in Malaysia is seeking engineers for an Early Career program focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for manufacturing processes. You will troubleshoot PLC/SCADA/hmi issues, optimize OEE, and support new equipment installation.

The role requires a Master's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related field, with knowledge of PLCs and instrumentation.

Qualifications

Master's degree in instrumentation, control engineering, mechatronics or related field is required.
Knowledge of industrial networks, instrumentation and electrical systems preferred.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron) is desirable.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain control systems and automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, drives, and instrumentation issues.
Optimize machine performance, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures.
Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Develop and update electrical drawings, control logic documentation, and SOPs.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to ensure operational excellence.
