Job summary

WD is seeking an Early Career Automation Engineer in Malaysia to design, develop, and maintain control systems for advanced manufacturing. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, sensors, and instrumentation, while driving improvements in performance and reliability across our production lines.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of industrial networks, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain control systems and automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, drives, and instrumentation issues.
• Optimize machine performance, reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures.
• Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Develop and update electrical drawings, control logic documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to ensure operational excellences.
