Job summary

Hunters International Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Managing Director to lead commercial growth, financial performance and day-to-day operations for its food distribution business in Malaysia. A strong General Manager or Business Unit Head ready for broader leadership responsibility may also be considered.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen and experience in food distribution or related FMCG sectors, with fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related; MBA welcomed.
• Proven leadership with P&L ownership across functions.
• Strong financial acumen and commercial judgement.
• Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set business plans, growth priorities, profitability targets and measurable goals for each function.
• Lead customer development, key account relationships, commercial negotiations and sales performance.
• Guide sourcing, supplier relationships, portfolio decisions and pricing.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, warehousing, logistics and customer service; improve workflow and delivery performance.
• Maintain product quality, food safety, stock control and appropriate compliance practices.
• Take ownership of the P&L, budgets, cash flow, margins, costs and receivables.
• Coach department leaders, build accountability and report business performance and risks to senior stakeholders.

It seeks a hands-on Managing Director to lead commercial growth, financial performance and day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities

Key Requirements

• Strong financial understanding, commercial judgement and practical operational problem-solving ability.
• Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Experience in food distribution, foodservice, food trading or FMCG is strongly preferred. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
• Willingness to work closely with teams on the ground and provide practical direction.
