Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking a Regulatory Reporting professional to support its Malaysia operations in delivering timely, accurate regulatory submissions, including EALIS. You will work closely with Business, Finance, Technology, Compliance, Operations, external vendors and Bank Negara Malaysia to maintain high standards of reporting and to enable changes in regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct trend and variance analyses and explain significant movements
  • Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve data quality issues
  • Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate process or system enhancements
  • Document and track issues, gaps and remediation actions through to closure
  • Support regulatory projects, audits and other initiatives to strengthen controls
  • Identify and manage regulatory and compliance risks in line with policies

We are looking for a Regulatory Reporting professional to support our Malaysia business in delivering timely, accurate and complete regulatory submissions. This role is responsible for EALIS and other assigned regulatory reporting, including data validation and reconciliation, regulatory queries, issue remediation and continuous improvement of reporting controls.

We are looking for a Regulatory Reporting professional to support our Malaysia business in delivering timely, accurate and complete regulatory submissions. This role is responsible for EALIS and other assigned regulatory reporting, including data validation and reconciliation, regulatory queries, issue remediation and continuous improvement of reporting controls.

You will work closely with business, Finance, Technology, Compliance, Operations, external vendors and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to maintain high standards of regulatory reporting and support changes in regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit EALIS and other assigned regulatory returns accurately and within regulatory deadlines.
  • Validate and reconcile reporting data against the general ledger and relevant outstanding balances before submission.
  • Perform trend and variance analysis, working with business stakeholders to investigate significant movements and provide supporting explanations.
  • Manage BNM reporting queries, data clean-up requests and reporting exceptions, ensuring timely remediation and appropriate root cause analysis.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve data quality issues and address gaps in business-as-usual reporting processes.
  • Monitor regulatory and guideline changes, assess their impact and coordinate required process or system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and data quality, ensuring changes are appropriately documented and communicated.
  • Maintain clear documentation and tracking of regulatory reporting issues, control gaps and remediation actions through to closure.
  • Support regulatory projects, audits and other initiatives to strengthen the regulatory reporting control environment.
  • Proactively identify and manage regulatory, operational and compliance risks in line with applicable requirements and Bank policies.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications appropriate to the role.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, finance, banking operations or a related field.
  • Good understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and the banking environment in Malaysia.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate data issues, reconcile information and identify root causes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, complete and timely reporting.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, process improvement and risk management.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and regulatory deadlines effectively.
  • Relevant licences, certifications or professional memberships where required.
