Job summary

TNG Digital is seeking a Legal Counsel to support the growth of the group in Malaysia. This hands-on role involves drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on legal matters while collaborating with other departments.

You will stay updated on corporate, financial, fintech regulations and help identify risks, supporting day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent law degree with admission to the Malaysian Bar.
• 5–7 years of corporate/commercial law experience in law firm or in‑house.
• Fintech or banking sector experience is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication.

Role Overview:

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for supporting the growth of TNG Digital Group. It is a “hands‑on” role which requires the Legal Counsel to work independently in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising the Company on legal related matters. Furthermore, the Legal Counsel will be required to work closely with other departments to achieve the Company’s goals.

What You'll Do:

Contract Drafting & Review

• Draft, review and assist in negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.
• Support the provision of legal advice on matters and applicable laws relevant to the Company’s projects and initiatives.

Others

• Assist with administrative work within the Legal Division.
• Follow up on post‑contract related matters.
• Stay updated on developments in legislation and the regulatory environment, particularly in corporate, financial, and fintech sectors.
• Assist in identifying potential areas of legal vulnerability and risk across the Company and support efforts to address them.
• Work closely with other internal stakeholders to support smooth business operations.
• Execute any other ad‑hoc tasks assigned in relation to day‑to‑day running of the Legal Division.

Role Requirements:

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
• Admission to the Malaysian Bar (or equivalent jurisdiction) is an added advantage

Experience:

• 5 to 7 years working experience in a law firm or in‑house legal team, with a focus on corporate/commercial drafting and advisory; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in the fintech or banking industry is an added advantage

Skills:

• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial sector
