Job summary

Prudential Services Asia seeks an investment professional to support growth with customer-centric propositions aligned to ESG, and to lead investment risk management and compliance activities. The role covers fund oversight, governance, and reporting duties in tandem with the IC Terms of Reference.

You will develop the team to deliver investment functions, coordinate with asset managers, distributors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, and ensure robust governance and communications.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

To support business growth, assisting in all investment propositions are of customer centric and ensuring the investment managements are supportive of asset liability management, in tandem with Group as well as country’s ESG direction. To take the lead carrying out investment related activities in particular investment risk management and compliance, investment funds oversight, investment operations, and investment marketing materials support. To develop the team ensuring optimal delivery of investment functions as per the Investment Committee (IC) Terms of Reference.

KEY ESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Investment Marketing and Training Assist to review and recommend investment propositions are of customer centric, suitable for different customers’ needs and risk profile and in tandem with ESG direction, including supporting the engagement with distributor channels to support business growth. Assist to form overall market outlook and investment strategy to provide market presentation and inputs required by external parties (distribution channel, regulator, auditor). This also includes providing market commentary of Investment Funds for different customers risk appetite. Assist to ensure the investment marketing presentation and investment training materials are accurate and comprehensive to equip the internal and external stakeholders with the required knowledge & skills to promote the new/enhanced fund strategy competently including fund closures/redirection. Assist to ensure investment marketing materials including master and monthly fund fact sheets, fund brochures, fund video, editorial, fund training deck, fund & market update deck, fund placemat, PRUQuarterly and fund website info are comprehensive, consistent and accurate to serve customer needs.
• 2. Investment Governance, Fund Development & Risk Reporting Assist in proper governance of investment functions as per the IC Terms of Reference and submission of proposals /reporting to IC, ALCO and Board. Assist in periodic review and enhancement of investment policy, Investment mandates and investment functions to ensure compliance with IC Terms of Reference and regulatory requirements. Assist to ensure compliance with investment asset valuation policy and regulatory outsourcing policy. Assist to prepare fund related performance and fund management activities and operation risk reports for internal (IC, ALCO, ERC and Board) and external stakeholders (includes regulatory, external auditor and distribution partners), which includes periodic investment performance reports, various risk reports, credit monitoring reports, investment activities, investment commentaries, annual fund reports, and fund fact sheets. Assist to provide periodic or annual or new fund due diligence (including operations and service delivery) of Asset Managers (Eastspring and third-party managers) as per outsourcing policy and banca distribution channel. Assist to ensure annual fund review for all distribution channels are proper. Develop and maintain relevant quantitative infrastructures and database from SCB Fund Accounting and Aladdin to support treasury related and third-party funds investment operations, to enable oversight on SAA rebalancing and TAA management and the management of the Passive investment portfolios across all Life Funds to ensure achievement of Asset-Liability Management outcome. Ensure investment fund operations are implemented efficiently. Oversee and ensure all investment agreements with Fund providers and Financial Counterparties are comprehensive, encompassing, clear and aligned with PAMB's interest. Ensure compliance on vendor management and protect PAMB’s interest. Ad-hoc investment related reports preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree related to finance or investment and/or relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CPA, ACCA and/or PKMC).
• At least 2 years of investment experience gained in an investment management or insurance organization.
• Broad investment experience in a range of asset classes or across different markets, whether directly or indirectly, and candidates who have worked in a licensed environment are preferred.
• High achiever with strong leadership skills and strong people person with ability to successfully handle business partners and motivate internal teams.
• Strong Business acumen with expert level knowledge of the international business environment and a sound understanding of market trends, and in the investment world.
• Highly focused and results oriented individual with ability to translate corporate business goals into well-defined performance plans and drive execution.
• Engage stakeholders in a timely manner to canvas support; influencing and steering diverse stakeholders towards a common direction.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
