Job summary

The Radiology department at Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced leader to plan, operate and manage day-to-day imaging services, ensuring safety, quality and efficient workflow across the hospital.

The role entails staffing, budgeting, accreditation readiness (JCI, MSQH), training, performance reviews, and collaboration with radiologists and clinical staff to uphold high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Degree in Radiography, Medical Imaging or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibilities.

Job description

To plan, operate and ensure the effective overall management of the department in providing efficient, dynamic and safe imaging services to all customers.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department e.g. Workflow, staff roster, case scheduling etc.

Oversee the quality control and maintenance of all equipment not only in the department but also in other departments within the hospital that use any imaging equipment.

To set up, maintain and ensure all relevant safety precautions relating to radiological protection and general safety in respect of patients and staff are strictly adhered.

Maintain good rapport and professional ethics with the Radiologists to provide reports accurately and timely.

Manage all radiographers in the performance of their duties ensuring a smooth workflow and high standard of radiography consistent with the needs of the Hospital, clinical staff and patients.

Responsible for the recruitment, training including development of competency matrix and bi-annual evaluation of performance for all categories of staff.

To keep professionally up-dated and to provide back-up in the event of unavailability of any department staff, including participation for the on‑call roster.

To prepare the department’s annual budget and ensure that goals and objectives are attained.

To meet the monthly department budget in revenue and control cost.

Develop business for the department through an annual marketing plan, savings through cost control and maximize use of all modalities.

To be responsible for the safe keeping of all supplies/consumables within the department, to include x-rays, control media etc.

To manage inventory of supplies/ consumables to minimize wastage and reduce cost.

To support the Hospital Administration in the preparation, documentation and implementation of any program towards the accreditation of JCI, MSQH and any other quality systems accreditation or quality improvement projects.

To maintain a harmonious and good working relationship within the unit, all medical staff, clinical and non-clinical staff.

You are responsible to be engaged in the Department and Hospital quality indicators.

To undertake any other duties, responsibilities and assignments which may delegated from time to time in an efficient and responsible manner

Requirements

Degree in Radiography, Medical Imaging or equivalent.

Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience, including supervisory experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Proven experience in managing daily department operations, manpower planning and staff development.

Experience in quality improvement initiatives and hospital accreditation standards (e.g. JCI, MSQH) is preferred.

Experience in budget planning, cost control and departmental performance management is an advantage.

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
