Paramount Corporation Berhad, based in Shah Alam, seeks a seasoned finance professional to lead the group reporting, Bursa Malaysia submissions and statutory accounts. You will oversee consolidation of monthly/quarterly results and coordinate audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
The role requires a degree or professional qualification in finance, at least 5 years in a listed-company setting, and strong Excel and accounting software skills.
Based at our subsidiary in Shah Alam, this role is responsible for
leading the preparation of Group Reporting, Bursa Reporting and Statutory Accounts; and
managing the finance and accounts for a portfolio of subsidiary companies.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO:
Group Reporting, Bursa Reporting and Statutory Accounts
To lead and review the preparation of the Group’s monthly and quarterly consolidated accounts and Bursa Malaysia financial reporting, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant submissions.
To lead and coordinate the preparation of the Group’s audited financial statements and annual report in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements and agreed timelines.
Finance Operations, Controls, Budgeting and Team Management
To supervise and review monthly closing reports and other financial reports prepared by the team, ensuring timely completion, accuracy, completeness and proper resolution of outstanding matters.
To supervise and review the processing and proper recording of receivables, payments and cash or cheques received by the team, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
To review accounting postings, periodic bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations prepared by the team, and ensure unresolved matters are followed up promptly.
To ensure supporting documents are properly approved and filed, and that applicable financial policies are followed where original documents are unavailable.
To monitor and ensure compliance with the Group’s approved financial policies, procedures, internal controls and delegated authority limits, and to follow up promptly on any exceptions or control gaps.
To coordinate and prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts for assigned companies within the Group, including consolidation, review of key assumptions and analysis of actual performance against budget.
To coordinate internal and external audits, including audit planning, timely provision of information and supporting documents, resolution of audit queries, and follow-up on audit findings and agreed action plans.
To supervise the compilation of indirect tax information and supporting documentation, review information provided to tax agents for tax filings, estimates and audits, and coordinate valuations for investment properties within the Group.
To supervise team members, allocate responsibilities, review work quality and timeliness, provide coaching and guidance, and ensure effective delivery of the Group Finance function.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
Qualification and experience
Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting or related field of studies.
Minimum 5 years of related working experience, preferably in a public listed company.
Specific skills, knowledge and characteristics
Well-versed in the preparation and consolidation of group accounts, Bursa Malaysia financial reporting, and audited financial statements, with sound knowledge of applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Familiar with the use of accounting software.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Proficient in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
Meticulous, organised, responsible and proactive.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Independent and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Reliable with a strong sense of integrity and possesses high confidentiality and commitment level.
