Manager, Corporate Communications & Reputation

The Manager, Corporate Communications & Reputation is responsible for supporting the implementation of NUR Power’s communications strategy through the execution of corporate communications, branding, media relations, reputation management, internal communications and digital communications initiatives.

The role serves as a key communications resource to the Company by developing impactful content, managing communication platforms, supporting stakeholder engagement activities and enhancing NUR Power’s corporate visibility, reputation and positioning as a reliable, quality-driven and trusted energy partner.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Communications & Strategic Messaging
  • Support the development and execution of NUR Power’s corporate communications strategy and annual communications plan.
  • Develop and maintain corporate communication materials including speeches, presentations, key messages, articles, newsletters, reports and corporate announcements.
  • Provide communications support and recommendations for business initiatives, projects, partnerships and corporate announcements.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all internal and external communication channels.
Corporate Branding & Reputation Management
  • Implement initiatives to strengthen NUR Power’s corporate brand, reputation and industry visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate branding guidelines and standards across all communication materials and platforms.
  • Monitor media coverage, public sentiment and emerging issues that may impact the Company’s reputation.
  • Support corporate profiling, award submissions, thought leadership initiatives and industry recognition programmes.
  • Assist in developing communication plans to address reputation-related issues and opportunities.
Media Relations & Executive Communications
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with media organisations, journalists and industry publications.
  • Coordinate media engagements, interviews, press briefings and corporate announcements.
  • Draft press releases, media statements, articles and executive communication materials.
  • Support the positioning of NUR Power’s leadership team through speaking engagements, conferences, forums and industry events.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and prepare regular media monitoring reports.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Develop and execute internal communication initiatives to enhance employee engagement and alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Prepare internal communication materials including announcements, newsletters, management updates and town hall communications.
  • Support employee engagement, change management and culture-building initiatives through effective communication programmes.
  • Coordinate communication activities to ensure employees receive timely and consistent information.
Digital Communications & Content Management
  • Manage and maintain NUR Power’s corporate website, LinkedIn and other approved digital communication platforms.
  • Develop content and digital storytelling initiatives that showcase corporate achievements, operational excellence, sustainability efforts and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Coordinate multimedia content development including photography, videography and visual communication materials.
  • Monitor digital communication performance and recommend improvements based on analytics and engagement metrics.
Crisis Communications & Issues Management
  • Support the development, maintenance and implementation of crisis communication plans and protocols.
  • Assist in preparing communication materials for incidents, operational disruptions and crisis situations.
  • Coordinate communication responses and media enquiries during critical events as directed by Management.
  • Maintain crisis communication templates, stakeholder contact databases and communication resources.
ESG & Sustainability Communications
  • Support the communication of NUR Power’s ESG commitments, sustainability initiatives and community engagement programmes.
  • Develop ESG-related content for sustainability reports, presentations, newsletters, digital platforms and stakeholder communications.
  • Assist in promoting awareness of the Company’s sustainability achievements and social impact initiatives.
  • Support communication activities related to CSR and community engagement programmes.
Corporate Events & Industry Engagement
  • Coordinate communication support for customer engagement sessions, conferences, exhibitions, sponsorship programmes, corporate events and industry initiatives.
  • Prepare communication materials, event content and post-event reports.
  • Support protocol arrangements and executive participation at corporate and industry events.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor communication effectiveness through media monitoring, stakeholder feedback and digital engagement metrics.
  • Prepare monthly communication reports, communication dashboards and performance updates for Management review.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance communication effectiveness and stakeholder reach.
Other Responsibilities
  • Undertake any other duties, assignments or projects as may be assigned by the Head of Department or Management from time to time in the interest of the Company.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, Corporate Affairs or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, branding, reputation management or corporate affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication campaigns, media engagement activities and corporate branding initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications, reputation management, strategic messaging and content development.
  • Experience in ESG communications, sustainability initiatives or corporate responsibility programmes would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital communications, social media management and content analytics.
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong interpersonal, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Prior experience in the utilities, energy, infrastructure, industrial or GLC sector would be an added advantage.
