Job summary

MISC Berhad is seeking an experienced Manager, Assurance to lead risk-based HSE assurance activities across its operations. You will ensure governance, critical controls, and HSE performance are strengthened through independent reviews and evidence-based findings.

You will prepare insightful reports and collaborate with business leaders and PETRONAS HSSE stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and compliance across the group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, OH&S, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in maritime, shipping, or oil & gas operations.
• Experience in HSE assurance or auditing is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of HSE management systems and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver risk-based HSE assurance activities.
• Lead assurance reviews to evaluate governance and critical controls.

• Prepare reports, dashboards, and management summaries with insights.

Are you passionate about HSE assurance, risk management, governance, and driving continuous improvement across complex operations?

At MISC Berhad, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our Group HSSE team as Manager, Assurance. In this role, you will lead and deliver independent, risk-based assurance activities that strengthen critical controls, enhance HSE performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and enterprise requirements across the Group.

What You'll Do

As the Manager Assurance, you will:

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver risk-based HSE assurance activities in line with the approved assurance framework and annual assurance plan.
• Lead and participate in assurance reviews to assess the effectiveness of governance processes, HSE management systems, and critical controls.
• Ensure assurance findings are clearly documented, evidence-based, and effectively monitored through to closure.
• Prepare assurance reports, dashboards, and management summaries that provide meaningful insights into HSE risks and control effectiveness.
• Work closely with operational leaders, HSE teams, and stakeholders to facilitate assurance activities and communicate outcomes.
• Enhance assurance standards, methodologies, and tools by incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices.
• Support the continuous development of assurance capabilities while upholding ethical and independent assurance practices.
• Collaborate with MISC Group companies, Corporate Office functions, and PETRONAS HSSE stakeholders to strengthen assurance effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Occupational Health & Safety, Management, Engineering, Applied Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience in Maritime & Shipping, HSE, Business Operations, or Oil & Gas Operations.
• Experience in HSE assurance or auditing is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of HSE management systems, governance frameworks, and risk-based assurance approaches.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assurance activities across diverse operations and geographical locations.
• Professional audit qualifications or certifications related to Maritime, Shipping, HSE, ISO, or equivalent standards would be advantageous.
