Job summary

RBC Malaysia is seeking a finance professional to deliver effective accounting and statutory reporting aligned with Head Office and Australian requirements. The role supports APAC finance objectives and partner onshore teams to drive accurate financial stewardship.

You will handle head office reporting, regulatory returns and documentation, while contributing to process improvements and project work within a 40-hour work week at the Putrajaya location.

Qualifications

  • Degree required and accounting designation strongly preferred.
  • Regulatory reporting experience is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational, numeric and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Head Office financial reports.
  • Prepare Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority returns.
  • Prepare ABS returns and Australian Stock Exchange returns.
  • Prepare supporting documentation, schedules and reconciliations.
  • Collate and store Finance procedures manuals.
  • Contribute to APAC Finance reporting process enhancements.
  • Coordinate project work.

The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Centre of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.

What is the opportunity?

The Finance team at RBC Malaysia provides Finance and Accounting support to RBC Malaysia locally, in addition to all of RBC’s businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Centre of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.

The main objective of this role is to provide effective accounting and statutory reporting, that is in line with business objectives to Head Office and Australian reporting requirements.

What will you do?
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of Head Office financial reports
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority Returns.
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of the returns for the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of the returns for the Australian Stock Exchange
  • Preparation of all supporting documentation, schedules and reconciliations required in the performance of the above-mentioned reports.
  • Responsibility for the collation and storage of all Finance procedures manuals.
  • Participate in enhancements initiatives to the APAC Finance reporting processes / structures
  • Project work coordination
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
  • Financial products knowledge
  • Regulatory / financial reporting experience will be an advantage
  • Degree required and accounting designation strongly preferred. Good organisational, numeric and reconciliation skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of accounting concepts within a Financial Institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Willing to take on new challenges while being confident and self-motivated.
  • Previous relevant industry knowledge
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements such as APRA, ABS and ASX returns.
