Job summary

Lumileds International in Penang, Bayan Lepas, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I or II (Reliability Lab) to support PM, calibration, and lab chamber operation. You will monitor MTBA/MTBF/OEE and assist engineers to keep equipment running reliably in a fast-paced, global LED company.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, documentation, and improvement projects to boost uptime and efficiency while following safety guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in Biweekly Safety Briefings and ensure safety briefing compliance.
• Support preventive maintenance and calibration tasks with PM Coordinator.
• Monitor lab equipment performance and assist in optimizing chamber operation.
• Manage spare parts issuance and coordinate vendor activities.
• Help with quarterly asset counts and accuracy of equipment records.
• Prepare and compile weekly OEE, MTBA/MTBF data and quality/yield escalations.
• Support routine ESD checks and update troubleshooting procedures.

Maintenance Technician II (Reliability Lab)

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting Reliability Lab Operations (Rel Lab) by ensuring all chambers and related equipment operate effectively and reliably. Key responsibilities include performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and equipment calibration, as well as supporting LM80 chamber performance monitoring.

The role requires continuous monitoring of equipment metrics such as MTBA, MTBF, OEE, and reliability productivity capacity to ensure operational stability. The technician must follow instructions from Engineers and Managers, adhering to all operational procedures and safety guidelines.

The Maintenance Technician is expected to be capable of performing equipment troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and executing improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do:

• Participate in Biweekly Safety Briefings; Ensure full compliance with safety requirements by attending and acknowledging biweekly safety topic briefings.
• Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Calibration Activities; Work closely with the PM Coordinator to perform scheduled equipment PM and assist with equipment calibration tasks.
• Facilitate Lab Equipment Performance; Assist Engineers and Managers in monitoring and maintaining optimal performance of lab equipment and chambers.
• Manage Spare Parts and Vendor Coordination; Handle issuance and withdrawal of spare parts, and coordinate vendor activities to support maintenance and repair work.
• Support Quarterly Finance Asset Cycle Count; Assist in conducting quarterly asset verification to ensure accuracy of equipment records.
• Prepare and compile Operation Data; Help prepare weekly OEE and BSC data, compile MTBA/MTBF metrics, support Safety Jail reporting, prepare MTBA reports, and assist with Quality/Yield escalations.
• Assist with ESD Equipment Checks; Support routine checks and verification of ESD-related equipment to maintain compliance and operational safety.
• Prepare Troubleshooting Procedures & Perform Minor Repairs; Develop and update RnM troubleshooting procedures and carry out repetitive minor maintenance tasks as required.
