Job summary

Kumpulan Pintasan (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a maintenance technician for gate barrier systems at Northport Klang. You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, perform troubleshooting, and ensure systems stay reliable and compliant with project requirements.

The role requires basic electrical test skills, the ability to read diagrams, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a maintenance team. Training will be provided, and on-site duties may include shifts and standby.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in electrical/electronic/mechatronics or related technical field preferred.
• Experience with automatic barrier systems or electrical/electronic maintenance is an advantage.
• Basic ability to read wiring diagrams and operate test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of gate barrier systems and related components.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control-system faults affecting operation.
• Perform equipment replacement, repair, wiring terminations, and minor electrical works as required.
• Respond to breakdowns and attend urgent maintenance calls within required response time.
• Maintain records of maintenance, faults, repairs, and spare parts used.
• Prepare service and fault reports, checklists, and preventive maintenance records.
• Conduct routine site inspections and identify potential equipment failures.
• Maintain inventory and condition of tools, testing equipment, and spare parts.

Job description

Responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of gate barrier systems, radio communication systems, at Northport (Klang). The technician shall ensure all equipment remains operational, reliable, and compliant with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of automatic gate barrier systems, including barrier arms, motors, controllers, loop detectors, sensors, limit switches, photocells, and related components.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control-system faults affecting gate barrier operation.

Perform equipment replacement, component repair, wiring termination, cable checking, and minor electrical works where required.

Respond to equipment breakdowns and attend to emergency/urgent maintenance calls within the required response time.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment faults, repairs, spare parts used, and replacement components.

Prepare service reports, inspection checklists, fault reports, and preventive maintenance records.

Conduct routine site inspections and identify potential equipment failures before they affect system operation.

Maintain proper inventory and condition of tools, testing equipment, spare parts, and maintenance materials.

About you

Certificate/Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Telecommunications, IT, or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience in automatic barrier systems, radio communication, or electrical/electronic maintenance is an advantage.

Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, motors and control panels, relay/control systems, sensors and detectors, access control systems, and basic networking and IP equipment.

Ability to use basic electrical and electronic test equipment such as multimeter.

Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and as part of a technical maintenance team.

Willing to work in shift hours, weekends, public holidays, standby, and emergency call-outs.

Possess a valid driving license to drive in site (company car).
