Job summary

Private Advertiser in Penang seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and yard teams, overseeing budgeting and coordinating daily operations across campus facilities.

You will manage vendor sourcing, ensure safety compliance, supervise staff, and respond to emergencies, while coordinating with the Director on strategic facility needs and event support.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Experience in supervisory/management roles preferred.
• English language skills (written and oral).

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Director, with direct reports including the Maintenance crew, Yard crew, and Maintenance clerk. The role involves overseeing daily operations, finances, budgeting, inventory control, campus maintenance, staff administration, vehicles management, licensing and permits, health and safety compliance, and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

Daily work allocation of staff: daily job distribution to staff, monitoring of work

Inventories, monitor and control department assets and stock

Source vendors for all approved works and large purchases

Liaise with, monitor, and control all contractor works to ensure quality and timely completion

Manage and administrate facility needs for company events

Advise maintenance crew on maintenance and repair works

Periodic inspection and maintenance of facility and premises

About you

Candidate should preferably possess a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or similar work experience in a supervisory/management/senior technician capacity

Familiar with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook

Possess general computing skills

English language skills (written and oral)

Negotiation, purchasing and sourcing skills

Maintenance skills (knowledge and skill in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, construction, air-cond., etc. work is an added advantage)
