Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang, Malaysia seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to set up machines, monitor performance, and perform preventive maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires mechanical/Mechatronics aptitude, basic problem solving, and the ability to operate with precision. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and must be able to lift light loads and follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating manufacturing equipment (injection molding, punch presses, slide machines or assembly equipment).
• Mechanical/Mechatronics background preferred.
• Able to provide and maintain personal tools for the role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with focus on quality and accuracy.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.
• Able to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 11 kg.

Responsibilities

• Set up all assigned machines and monitor machine performance.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot machines and implement modifications as needed.
• Coordinate setups with tool room, area lead and maintenance.
• Complete department paperwork and production reports.
• Provide effective communication regarding quality, mechanical and mold issues to all levels of staff.
• Observe safety, housekeeping and quality standards.
• Assist operators to meet job requirements.

Job description

Job Requirements

• Set up all assigned machines.
• Monitor machinery performance and basic preventive maintenance on equipment
• Trouble shoot machines, monitor results and make modifications as needed.
• Request set ups and maintenance through the tool room.
• Request repairs on machinery from the maintenance department
• Coordinate installations with area lead person, material handler and tool room.
• Set up all assigned machines and monitor machine performance.
• Shut a machine down if safety, quality of parts, or any concerns arise from the operator--it must be reported to the supervisor immediately.
• Completion of all paper work pertaining to department requirements.
• Provide effective communication to all levels of personnel regarding quality, mechanical and/or mold problems.
• Check and measure in-process parts.
• Write labor tickets and production reports.
• Assist operators and departmental personnel to meet job requirements.
• Observe all company rules and procedures including housekeeping, quality of work and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to meet business conditions or changes.
• Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.

What Your Background Should Look Like

• High school, Diploma or equivalent required, an Associate’s Degree in Electronics is preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience operating manufacturing equipment, including injection molding machines, punch presses, slide machines, or assembly equipment.
• Mechanical / Mechatronics engineering background preferred
• Must be able to provide and maintain personal tools required for the role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work effectively with machinery and equipment.
• Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good or corrected vision required to perform quality inspections and ensure accuracy of work.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (approximately 11 kg).
