Job summary

Otis Elevator Co. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in the Greater Ipoh Area, Malaysia. Your role will ensure the safety of passengers by maintaining elevators and escalators, while working independently and reporting findings to your supervisor.

Candidates should have at least an SPM or technical certificate and 3 years of experience in the industry, along with a valid motorcycle license. Otis offers long-term employment, comprehensive training, and quality work tools to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain elevator and escalator units according to the maintenance program.

• Attend to breakdown callback assignments promptly.
• Assist with additional repair works as instructed.

Sigma is growing and is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in Greater Ipoh Area. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of elevator and escalator units.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure all servicing, replacements, repairs and troubleshooting work are diligently and professionally performed according to the Company’s maintenance program and work schedule.
• To report all abnormal findings to superior, supervisor and or engineer for further action.
• To ensure that all the work performed (i.e. servicing, parts replacement, repairs and breakdown) are accompanied by relevant job-sheet acknowledged by the respective customer.
• To attend as soon as reasonably possible all breakdown callback assignments. Priority is to be given for ‘man trap’ situations.
• To perform other repair works as instructed by the Supervisor and or Engineer.
• Might be required for 24‑hour Breakdown Callback Standby duties.
• Any other duties that may be given by the Supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM, preferably with a technical certificate.
• Basic Electrical, Electronic and or Mechanical knowledge with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the elevator/lift/escalator industry.
• Able to troubleshoot and solve technical problems; advantage will be given.
• Familiar with elevator/lift and escalator operation.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Results‑driven and committed.
• Comfortable dealing with customers.
• Brings a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Must have a valid motorcycle license.
