2.1 PLC / Automation Control System Support
- Perform troubleshooting and repair for PLC-controlled machines, including I/O signals, sensors, actuators, interlocks, alarms, and safety circuits.
- Support control panel components such as relays, contactors, power supplies, VFD/inverters, servo drives, and communication modules.
- Conduct PLC and HMI backup, restore, and parameter verification in accordance with internal procedures.
- Support machine control modifications (where applicable) under proper change control and approval.
2.2 Robotics System Support
- Troubleshoot and recover industrial robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, Kawasaki, ABB, Yaskawa) to restore production operations.
- Respond to robot alarms including axis errors, servo faults, encoder/battery alarms, and safety interlock faults.
- Support robot teaching adjustments, calibration checks, and recovery procedures together with vendor or internal engineering team.
- Execute robot preventive maintenance activities such as inspection, lubrication/greasing, cable condition checks, and battery replacement.
2.3 Breakdown Response & Root Cause Analysis
- Provide timely breakdown response and corrective action to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Record breakdown details including symptoms, action taken, spare parts used, and downtime duration.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
2.4 Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Improvement
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and checklists for automation equipment and robotics systems.
- Ensure preventive maintenance completion and compliance as per maintenance planning.
- Support MTTR/MTBF tracking and downtime Pareto analysis for improvement initiatives.
- Maintain critical spare parts readiness for automation and robotics components.
2.5 Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and update SOPs, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance records.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety requirements (LOTO, EHS procedures, and risk assessments).
- Support internal audits and compliance requirements related to maintenance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job coaching to technicians for PLC and robotics troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and vendors for major troubleshooting, spare parts, and technical support.
- Communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational needs.
3. Qualification Requirements
3.1 Education
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
3.2 Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, preferably in automation-intensive environments.
- Hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting and industrial robotics support.
3.3 Technical Competency (Preferred)
- PLC platforms: Mitsubishi / Siemens / Omron / Allen Bradley (any relevant platform).
- Robotics systems: Fanuc / Kawasaki / ABB / Yaskawa (any relevant platform).
- Strong knowledge in electrical control circuits, safety interlock systems, and industrial communication.
- Basic understanding of servo systems, VFDs, sensors, pneumatic controls, and troubleshooting methodology.
3.4 Skills & Attributes
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to work under pressure and respond quickly during production downtime.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Strong documentation discipline and safety mindset.
4. Working Conditions
- May require shift support and on-call standby depending on production requirements.
- Requires hands‑on troubleshooting in production environment.
- Must be able to support urgent breakdown situations.
