Job summary

Lee Kum Kee APAC is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to drive asset performance and support continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include leading machine upgrades, managing maintenance planning and shutdowns, and coordinating projects from scope through handover. The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of quality and food safety systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, maintenance engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on project experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or other high-volume production industries is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality and food safety management systems.
• Independent, self-motivated and aggressive.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & asset reliability: drive reliability, breakdown analysis, RCA and asset care.
• Engineering projects: lead upgrades, scope, schedules, budgets and handovers.
• Execution planning: manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; plan work orders.
• Shutdown planning: coordinate plant maintenance shutdowns and resource optimization.
• Team & contractor management: oversee contractors and service providers; ensure readiness.

1. Maintenance & Asset Reliability

• Drive equipment reliability and availability improvement initiatives.
• Breakdown analysis, troubleshooting, and effective asset lifecycle management.
• Spare parts and maintenance budget control.
• Analyze equipment performance trends and identify failure patterns.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement programs.
• Establish maintenance standards and asset care practices.
• Monitor OEE and implement actions to eliminate chronic losses.
• Develop long-term asset lifecycle and replacement strategies.

2. Engineering Project & Continuous Improvement

• Lead machine upgrades, replacement projects, and capacity enhancement initiatives.
• Develop project scope, URS (User Requirement Specification), schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Manage equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and handover activities.
• Execute automation, modernization, and process improvement projects.
• Support facility expansion and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, contractors, and technical deliverables.

3. Equipment performance & Planning Execution

• Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure maintenance work orders are planned, prioritized, and completed effectively.
• Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and plant maintenance activities.
• Optimize manpower utilization and maintenance resources.
• Manage contractors and maintenance service providers.
• Ensure equipment readiness to support production requirements.

Job Specification

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on project experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or other high-volume production industries is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with quality and food safety management systems.
