Job summary

STMicroelectronics Malaysia (Johor, Muar) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support high‑volume production through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and reliability improvements. You will work closely with production, quality and engineering teams to keep machines running at optimum performance and uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic / Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of maintenance engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; team leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machines.

Job Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance the reliability and efficiency of machines.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic / Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in the semiconductor industry or a related manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues on machines.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and techniques. Good communication skill and equipped with strong analytical skills.
• Systematic Problem-Solving methodology e.g., 8D, DMAIC, Process Mapping, Fish Bond, Is/is not...etc.
• Ability to anticipate issues and challenges and resolving them quickly. Good knowledge and skills in production area.
• Able to lead and coach technicians.
• Practice high performance behavior and together work as Team in executing projects & strive for excellent.
