Job summary

China State Construction & Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Inspector of Works (Mechanical & Electrical) to supervise daily M&E works on site in Malaysia. You will ensure activities align with drawings, specs, and method statements, and assist senior engineers in supervision and quality control.

The role requires a diploma or degree in an engineering field, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and registration with BEM as an Inspector of Works.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience as Inspector of Works, Site Supervisor or Clerk of Works preferred.
• Knowledge of M&E systems including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing & sanitary, electrical distribution and ELV systems.
• Understanding of construction drawings, specifications and site coordination processes.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers (BEM) as an Inspector of Works.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect daily Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works on site.
• Ensure construction activities follow approved drawings, specs, and method statements.
• Assist Resident Engineer and Consultant Engineers in site supervision and quality control.
• Inspect and verify M&E installation works on site.
• Ensure M&E quality control tests are conducted timely and meet specifications.
• Inspect workmanship and materials to ensure project requirements.
• Witness and verify tests such as insulation resistance, FAT, pipeline and duct tests, lighting tests and other M&E testing/commissioning activities.
