Job summary

YTL Construction is seeking an Engineer (M&E) to support monitoring and coordination of mechanical and electrical construction works on site. You will assist in supervising site implementation to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, quality standards and schedules.

Responsibilities include coordinating M&E installation activities, reviewing drawings, and maintaining HSSE and ISO documentation while supporting progress reporting and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring the schedule and progress of M&E installation works and report delays to the project team.
• Assist in developing project execution plans for M&E works.
• Assist in preparing subprogrammes and weekly programmes for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) trades to support site implementation.
• Assist in identifying potential clashes among construction elements and assist in resolving issues jointly with other trades and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate day-to-day M&E installation activities with other trades to ensure smooth site operations before concreting works and ceiling closure.
• Coordinate services installation works with subcontractors and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project requirements.
• Assist in reviewing design drawings, specifications and method statements, and highlight any discrepancies to the Construction Manager & Project team
• Support the verification of design and engineering documents to ensure compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and authorities’ requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of services coordination drawings together with subcontractors and other disciplines (Architects, C&S and M&E Engineers).
• Assist in conducting quality control inspections to ensure M&E works comply with project specifications and standards.
• Assist in monitoring inspection schedules and preparing inspection checklists for site works.
• Support the coordination of inspections, pre-testing of system works and final system testing and commissioning activities.
• Assist in monitoring rectification works for identified defects and maintaining proper defect records.
• Prepare and compile documents related to progress payment claims, variations, and final measurement of completed works.
• Support the preparation and updating of M&E documentation, drawings, reports and site records to ensure proper tracking of project progress.
• Maintain and file all assigned project documents related to the scope of works.
• Assist in monitoring the implementation of the company’s Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) plans and support safety awareness among staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain project-related ISO documentation in accordance with ISO audit requirements.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior and/or management.
