Job summary

Aneka Bena M.N. Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced M&E Engineer (Construction) on a contract basis based in Putrajaya. You will design, install, and commission mechanical and electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years' experience, familiarity with MS and IEC standards, and proficiency in CAD/BIM for delivering high-quality M&E solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in M&E engineering, preferably in construction.
• PE registration with BEM is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, fire safety).
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure installations meet approved designs and standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders for seamless M&E execution.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced M & E Engineer (Construction) to join Aneka Bena M.N. Sdn Bhd on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role within our engineering team, based in Putrajaya, where you will play a crucial part in the mechanical and electrical design, planning, and execution of construction projects. As an M & E Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical and electrical systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards, whilst adhering to project timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements. This position is essential to delivering quality outcomes and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure that installations comply with approved designs and quality standards

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of M & E works

Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on construction activities, challenges, and resolutions

Perform calculations and analysis to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems

Manage and review bills of quantities, cost estimates, and budgetary controls for M & E components

Identify and resolve technical issues and defects during construction and commissioning phases

Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and permits

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records for audit and reference purposes

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, preferably within the construction sector

Strong knowledge of M & E systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, fire safety systems, and building services

Proficiency in CAD software and BIM (Building Information Modelling) tools

Thorough understanding of Malaysian building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., MS 1604, IEC standards)

Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions

Professional Engineer (PE) registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is highly desirable

Experience with project management software and tools is an advantage
