Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Cost Estimator (LV/MV Switchboard or Electrical Switchgear) to support cost analysis, tendering, and BOQ preparation for LV/MV switchboard projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, preparing quotations, and liaising with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure feasible estimates.

The candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 4–5 years of relevant cost estimation experience, strong Excel skills, and

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation, preferably in the manufacturing of LV switchboards or electrical switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, switchgear components, electrical drawings, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimation software; knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Mandarin-speaking candidates are required to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements for LV and MV switchboard projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimation, quotations, and BOQs in accordance with project specifications and customer requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to ensure accuracy of project estimates.
• Support tender preparation, submission activities, and participate in client discussions and negotiations when required.
