InterContinental Mangala Estate Kuantan Resort is seeking a General Manager (Pre-Opening) to lead the new luxury property in Malaysia. You will own the hotel’s success, drive financial results, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of luxury hospitality operations, revenue management, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven General Manager experience, ideally in Luxury & Lifestyle brands would be an advantage.
• Stakeholder management and partnerships within the business and local community.
• Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in driving financial and operational performance, ideally with solid understanding of local markets.
• Capacity to build and lead a high-performing and engaged team and commitment to developing and coaching colleagues.
• Financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor team member succession planning to ensure future bench strength.
• Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance.
• Oversee HR related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
• Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards.
• Drive improvement in guestsatisfaction goals and collaborate to meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Prepare annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets and analyze financials to drive revenues.
