We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Lead to join our dynamic team in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia. This role is part of the Supply Chain Department and it is crucial for optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily logistics activities, identifying areas for improvement, and leading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Operational Management:

Oversee and manage daily logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and last-mile delivery for inbound and outbound shipments.

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.

Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues or delays that may arise.

Manage and optimize freight forwarding activities, including customs clearance and import/export documentation.

Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all logistics processes.

Team Leadership & Development (for Lead role):

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics executives/clerks, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.

Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members.

Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team adherence to company policies and procedures.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction and service enhancement.

Propose and implement process improvements to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales, customer service) to ensure seamless integration of logistics activities.

Stay updated with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes in the logistics and supply chain sector.

Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and other vendors.

Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.

Address and resolve any disputes or issues with vendors effectively.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all logistics activities comply with local and international regulations, including customs, trade, and transportation laws.

Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing purposes.

Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare regular reports on logistics performance metrics (e.g., delivery rates, costs, inventory turnover, on-time performance).

Present findings and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in managing and optimizing warehousing, transportation, and inventory control.

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team.

Strong understanding of customs procedures, import/export regulations, and local logistics landscape in Malaysia.

Proficiency in using logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferable Oracle.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken). Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
