Job summary

A healthcare organization in Ipoh is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to assess patients and develop personalized rehabilitation plans. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy and be a member of the Malaysian Occupational Therapist Association. Responsibilities include providing therapy for various conditions and training patients in daily living skills. This role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient management and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.
  • Member of Malaysian Occupational Therapist Association.
  • Preferably with 2 years working experience in tertiary hospital.

  • Perform accurate assessments to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans.
  • Provide therapy for pediatric, orthopedic, and neurological conditions.
  • Train patients in daily living skills.
  • Conduct cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation.

Job description

Perform accurate and appropriate assessment to ensure accurate therapy and other patient-management is carried out to meet customers’ needs.

Assist in the management of the Occupational Therapy Unit by ensuring continuous improvement of services, development of new series, uninterrupted service delivery and services are carried out.

Assess patients’ functional abilities (ADL, cognition, motor, sensory)

Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans

Provide therapy for paediatric, orthopaedic and neurological conditions

Train patients in daily living skills (dressing, feeding, grooming)

Improve fine motor, coordination, and upper limb and hand function

Conduct cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation

Recommend and train use of assistive devices and splints

Advise on home and workplace modifications for safe discharge

Educate patients, families, and caregivers

Participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation team

Document progress and outcomes according to hospital/MOH standards

Job Requirements

Possess Bachelorin Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.

Member of MalaysianOccupational Therapist Association.

Preferably with 2 yearsworking experience in tertiary hospital.
