Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a self-motivated Legal Assistant (Pupil in Chambers/Litigation) to ensure smooth office operations and effective case management. You will conduct legal research, draft documents, maintain files, and prepare matters for litigation, including hearings and trials, using modern case management software.

This role requires attending meetings with clients, updating ongoing matters, and supporting both physical and virtual hearings.

Qualifications

Must hold valid legal practicing certificate.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.
Willing to travel and have own transport.
Able to work independently and in a team.
Strong communication and ability to work under pressure.
Good analytical skills; detail-oriented.
Embrace technology as part of workflow.

Responsibilities

Prepare legal research for the firm.
Draft and/or review cause papers, opinions, and other civil litigation documents.
Attend meetings with the firm’s clients.
Maintain good relationships with clients and third parties.
Manage and update all ongoing matters.
Attend to case managements and hearings in person or virtually.
Perform other duties as assigned by the firm.
