Job summary

Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong is seeking experienced Litigation Clerks to support our Kuala Lumpur City Centre litigation team. This full-time role offers exposure to a respected law practice and opportunities to advance your legal career while working alongside senior lawyers in a dynamic environment.

You will conduct legal research, draft and review documents, manage case files, liaise with clients and court officials, and assist with trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Completion of legal qualification (Bachelor of Laws or equivalent) or relevant paralegal certification.
• Proven experience as litigation clerk or paralegal in a law firm or legal department.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, court rules and legal processes in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, memoranda and written advice on litigation matters.
• Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, correspondence and court filings.
• Assist with case preparation, including reviewing evidence, organizing files and preparing bundles of documents.
• Manage case files and maintain accurate records of court dates, deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel and court officials to gather information and update clients on case progress.
• Conduct statutory and common law research to support litigation strategy and legal arguments.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness statements and coordinating logistics.
• Support the team with administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence management and scheduling.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with professional conduct standards and court rules.

Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong is seeking experienced Litigation Clerks to join our dynamic legal team in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your legal career within a respected law practice. As a Litigation Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting our litigation practice, working alongside senior lawyers to ensure the smooth operation of cases and the delivery of excellent legal services to our clients. This position is based in our Kuala Lumpur City Centre office.

What we're looking for

• Completion of legal qualification (Bachelor of Laws or equivalent) or relevant paralegal certification
• Proven experience working as a litigation clerk or paralegal within a law firm or legal department
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, court rules and legal processes in Malaysia
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and professional legal documents
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all legal work
• Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office applications
• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Professional demeanour and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with clients and court personnel
• Familiarity with legal billing and accounting systems would be advantageous
• Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms is desirable
