Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a proactive lawyer to support day-to-day Litigation, IP & Technology matters within the Dispute Resolution/Commercial practice. You will perform legal research and assist lawyers and partners accordingly.

Responsibilities include translating court documents between English and Bahasa Malaysia, preparing cause papers, affidavits, and submissions, coordinating filings, and drafting commercial agreements.

Qualifications

• Law degree required (LLB).
• Experience in Litigation/IP/Technology is advantageous.
• Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to a 6–12 month contract.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day Litigation, IP & Technology matters in DR/Commercial.
• Conduct legal research and support lawyers and partners.
• Translate court documents between English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Prepare cause papers, affidavits, court applications and submissions.
• Coordinate submission and filing of relevant court documents.
• Draft and prepare commercial agreements.
• Assist in managing litigation, IP & Technology files.

Assists with the day-to-day Litigation / Intellectual Property & Technology matters in the Dispute Resolution / Commercial practice group.

Undertake necessary legal research and provide legal support to lawyers and partners in the Dispute Resolution / Commercial practice group.

Assist in translating court documents from English to Bahasa and vice versa.

Assist with the preparation of cause papers, affidavits, applications to court and/or legal submissions.

Responsible for preparing, compiling and coordinating the submission and filing of relevant court documents.

Drafting/preparing commercial agreements.

Assist in managing litigation / Intellectual Property & Technology files.

Requirements:

A minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

Prior Litigation / IP Tech experience will be an advantage.

Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently and as a team.

Able to commit to least 6 to 12-month contract.
