Job summary

Standard Chartered Global Business Services in Malaysia is responsible for monitoring GMR and credit limits, flagging potential liquidity issues to the LM/HOTM, and providing back-up to Treasury-Markets Dealers as required by resourcing needs.

The role operates within established risk management processes, partnering with risk and control teams to maintain a robust liquidity position and ensure limit adherence across TM, LCR and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor GMR and credit limits as detailed in the GMR limits and flag potential liquidity limit issues to the LM / HOTM for further action.
• Flag potential credit limit issues to LM / IM / HOTM for further action.
• Provide back-up to Treasury Markets Dealers with appropriate delegated authority from Country Treasury-Markets and GM.
• Ensure Treasury Liquidity, Market Risk and Credit limits are respected and request temporary or permanent limits where appropriate.
• Oversee risk management processes defined in governance committees and lead through risk-aware collaboration with partners.

Monitor GMR and credit limits

• MCO, Wholesale Borrowing, Stress test, MTF and swapped funds guideline as detailed in the GMR limits. Flag any potential liquidity limit issues to the LM / HOTM for further action
• Flag any potential credit limit issues to the LM / IM / HOTM for further action

Back-up to Treasury-Markets Dealers

• Provide back-up to LM /IM/ commensurate with the level of seniority as necessitated by resourcing issues (e.g. Block Leave, Sick Leave etc) with the appropriate and approved delegated authority from the respective Country Treasury-Markets and GM.

• Treasury Markets business and risk management processes are defined and governed in various risk, governance, and control committees

People & Talent

• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with risk and control partners

Risk Management

• Custody and management of TM’s RWA limit, ensuring adherence to the target set. Responsible for forecasting RWA usage and input into the setting of the limit, after obtaining the relevant balance sheet information from all parties.
• Manage the Group’s balance sheet and liquidity to within agreed limits. Ensure that a robust liquidity position is maintained, and that any surplus liquidity is deployed prudently in line with the Bank’s objectives
• Provide robust oversight in MCO, Wholesale Borrowing, LCR, Survival Horizon and swapped funding guideline, as detailed in the GMR limits.
• Flag any potential liquidity limit issues in advance.
• Flag any potential credit limit issues to HOTM in advance.
• To request for temporary and permanent limits to Treasury Liquidity, Market Risk and Credit, where appropriate
