Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia is seeking a Business Manager for the Group Resilience function. You will oversee day-to-day management, coordinate governance and reporting, and ensure timely, decision-ready information to support Strategy, Governance & Change.

Group Resilience is responsible for enabling the Bank to anticipate, withstand, respond to, recover from, and learn from operational disruptions through a unified framework and capabilities to meet regulatory expectations and strengthen operational readiness. We continue to stay committed to enhancing and embedding resilience as a capability throughout the Bank, via a comprehensive approach which encompasses 3 key pillars: Resilience, Resolvability and Crisis Management.
Operational Resilience ensures the safeguarding of the Bank’s critical business services and their supporting resources, ensuring they can function effectively during adverse events. Resolvability ensures the Bank can maintain continuity of critical operations and access to services in the event of severe stress or resolution, in line with regulatory expectations. Crisis Management provides the structures, capabilities, and coordination required to respond decisively to incidents, protect stakeholders, and stabilise the Bank during periods of heightened uncertainty. As a collective, these pillars support regulatory compliance, protect stakeholders, and reinforce the Bank’s reputation as a trusted and reliable institution.
Group Resilience plays a pivotal role in supporting the Bank by implementing robust frameworks, monitoring risks, and maintaining compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. Through proactive planning, rigorous testing, and continuous improvement, we help to ensure the Bank remains resilient and well-positioned to serve our customers and stakeholders.
The Business Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Group Resilience business management function. The role owns the operating rhythm, governance discipline, financial and workforce management routines, management reporting, communications and follow-through across the function.
The role holder will translate Group Resilience priorities into clear plans, actions and deliverables; maintain disciplined business management routines; coordinate inputs across Group Resilience and partner teams; and ensure timely, accurate and decision-ready information is available to support the Strategy, Governance & Change agenda.
The role will act as the central point of coordination for business management activities, ensuring priorities are tracked, dependencies are surfaced, risks are escalated and agreed actions are closed.

The centre has evolved from being a cost‑effective venture for Standard Chartered Bank to becoming an integral part of its operations and one of its Centres of Excellence.
Established in 2001, it now provides a multitude of services to Standard Chartered Bank which has a 150-year history in some of the world’s most dynamic markets. The centre provides dedicated world‑class technology, software and system development, information technology support services, banking operations and customer care capabilities to businesses globally.
It now houses one of the largest software development centres in Malaysia as well as the Bank’s Collective Intelligence and Command Centre, a state‑of‑the‑art facility which provides situational awareness and response capability to Standard Chartered Bank and its subsidiaries using the latest technologies for monitoring and analytics. It has a total workforce of more than 4,300 employees.
Standard Chartered Global Business Services was conferred the ICT Organisation of The Year Award in 2011 by The National ICT Association of Malaysia, making it the first Global Shared Services Centre of an international bank in Malaysia to win the prestigious award. In 2014, Standard Chartered Global Business Services was awarded the Silver Award for the Employer of Choice category in the Malaysia HR Awards organised by the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management.
