Job summary

Hong Leong Assurance Berhad is seeking a Unix/Linux System Administrator to manage the Linux Cloud (Red Hat OCP/OCPV) and oversee upgrades, migrations, and daily operations. You will troubleshoot complex system issues, maintain backup and recovery strategies, and participate in disaster recovery exercises within the bank and HL group.

Qualifications

• Malaysian citizen with a recognized degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of hands-on Unix-based System Administration experience.
• Experience managing large-scale virtualized environments on AIX, Solaris, and Red Hat; OpenShift/Kubernetes knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Linux Cloud (Red Hat OCP/OCPV) and oversee upgrade/migration of existing systems for secure, reliable operations.
• Perform troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and fix system problems.
• Oversee backup and recovery strategy and storage management.
• Participate in DR exercises within the bank and HL group of companies.
• Maintain accurate records of system parameters, patches, configurations, and decision justifications.
