About the role

Bestwise Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and reliable Lift Truck Driver to join our warehousing and distribution operations in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our warehouse operations. As a Lift Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining lift trucks to move, stack, and store materials and goods within our facility. This role is essential to our supply chain operations and requires a highly skilled and safety-conscious professional who can work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Key responsibilities

Operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and arrange goods in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner

Inspect lift trucks and equipment before use to ensure they are in proper working condition, and report any maintenance issues or defects to management

Follow all warehouse safety protocols and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Manage inventory within the warehouse by accurately placing goods in designated storage areas and maintaining clear aisles and walkways

Maintain accurate records of goods moved, including quantities, locations, and times, to ensure proper inventory control

Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate material movements and ensure smooth operations

Keep the warehouse clean and organised, removing any obstacles or hazards that may impede operations

Comply with all health and safety regulations, including weight limits, stacking heights, and operational procedures

Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles when required

Perform routine maintenance tasks on lift trucks, including checking fluid levels and reporting damage promptly

What we're looking for

Valid lift truck (forklift) license or certification appropriate for Malaysia, with demonstrated competence in operating various types of lift trucks

Proven experience working as a lift truck driver in a warehousing, distribution, or logistics environment, preferably for 2+ years

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations

Excellent spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor control for safe equipment operation

Ability to work efficiently and safely under pressure, meeting warehouse productivity targets

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors

Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, and occasional heavy lifting throughout the working day

Attention to detail and accuracy in recording inventory movements and maintaining warehouse records

Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to health and safety standards

Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer literacy is advantageous
